Mobile apps aren’t the only ones seeing impressive growth on phablets. Larger-screen devices are also grabbing more share of mobile website visits. According to research by Chitika, the percentage of website traffic in North America coming from smartphones with a screen size of 5-plus inches rose about 160% between September 2013 and September 2014, from just below 7% to nearly 18%.
According to data released in January 2015 by J.P. Morgan, the average smartphone screen size worldwide rose to 5.1 inches last year, up from 4.6 inches in 2013. As the larger screen becomes the norm, the phablet category could simply become the new smartphone category. Read the rest at eMarketer.
