Eighty-two percent of Baby Boomers worldwide said they are still willing to shop for food and beverages in-store despite the pandemic, according to July 2020 data from Braze.

So is this simply a case of younger people more likely to adopt technologies such as using mobile apps to buy groceries quicker than older people?

According to App Annie, less than one-third of 55- to 64-year-olds said they prefer to shop via mobile, and even fewer respondents (18%) ages 65 and older felt the same way.

Boomers are more likely than other generations to have said they’ve formed a coronavirus social bubble, so they do appear to be concerned about the health of those around them.

Perhaps the explanation is a need to get out of the house and socialize? Or maybe it is simply force of habit?

The data begs raises more questions than it answers.
