Buoyed by a 27% year-over-year increase in domestic sales, Amazon rose a couple of spots to crack the top 10 retailers by US sales. Coming in at #9, Amazon is the first pure-play e-retailer to have made it into the top 10. The US accounted for 57% of Amazon’s global sales in 2013; all other retailers in the top 10 saw at least 70% of their sales coming from the US. Meanwhile, McDonald’s fell from #9 to #11; by comparison, it derived just 40% of its global sales from the US. Source: STORES Magazine
