Generations' Work Relationships [PRESENTATION]

LinkedIn’s Relationships@Work Study surveyed 11,500 people worldwide about their relationships at work. Among the findings:

  • 46% of professionals worldwide believe that work friends are important to their overall happiness.
  • 67% of Millennials are likely to share personal details including salary, relationships and family issues with co-workers, compared to only about one third of Baby Boomers.
  • One third of Millennials vs 5% of Boomers think socializing with colleagues help them move up the career ladder.
  • 68% of Millennials said they would sacrifice a friendship with a colleague if it meant getting a promotion. Baby Boomers claim to be more virtuous: 62% said they would never even consider it.
