Casual online and social games have brought video gaming to wider demographics than ever before. And according to a November 2013 report from the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), nearly half of US adults over 50 played video games.
These older gamers have not yet fully embraced mobile platforms for their game-playing, however—or more traditional devices like consoles. The poll found that seven in 10 gamers over 50 used a PC to play, while four in 10 used a phone or other mobile device. Only about one-quarter of respondents played games on a console.
