Teen Facebook users in the largest network size quartile (those with more than 600 friends in their network) are more likely to be friends on Facebook with peers who don’t attend their own school, with people they have never met in person (not including celebrities and other “public figures”), as well as with teachers or coaches. Most strikingly, teens with more than 600 Facebook friends are nearly twice as likely as the next quartile to have teachers or coaches, or other people they haven’t met in person in their friend networks.
