About 6 in 10 online consumers would rather receive a tablet than a computer as a gift this holiday season, and roughly 7 in 10 feel that tablets will replace e-readers as gifts, per new survey results from PriceGrabber. But what tablets are these consumers hoping to get? It turns out they’d really like an iPad: 63% would want the iPad 3 or iPad 4, while 24% would be quite happy with the iPad mini. Behind these Apple products, 22% would like the Samsung Galaxy Note, 20% the Amazon Kindle Fire HD, 13% the Microsoft Surface tablet, and 12% the Google Nexus 7. No other tablet was cited by more than 10% of the respondents.
These findings seem to contradict survey results from Techbargains.com, which found that of the 53% of respondents planning to purchase a tablet this season, 33% are looking to buy a Google Nexus 7, 30% an iPad, 24% an iPad Mini, and 24% a Kindle Fire HD. Still, that survey was conducted among visitors to the Techbargains site, and so the results may be influenced by current deals and pricing. Read the rest at MarketingCharts.
