e-strategy.com president David Erickson founded e-strategy.com in 1996 to Internet marketing and Web site design services. His superb writing skills, a background in the graphic arts, extensive Internet experience, and professional experience in the marketing, advertising and retail industries combined to give him a unique insight into online marketing and the skills to carry it out.

For two years, e-strategy.com provided primarily Web design and internet marketing strategy and services to small business and non-profit clients.

1998 proved to be a turning point in e-strategy.com's history. The firm began to take on national clients such as the Markle Foundation's Email for All campaign. In that same year, Mr. Erickson partnered with St. Paul public relations firm New School Communications to launch MNPolitics.com, a Web site covering Minnesota politics. The site was an immediate hit and has since developed a devoted readership among the state's media, political elite, and political junkies everywhere. This joint project marked the beginning of a business partnership that continues to benefit both firms' clients to this day.

From the beginning, David Erickson believed that the Internet would prove to be an exciting and innovative marketing medium. That is what inspired him to found e-strategy.com. But he would have to wait for the market to fully catch up to his expectations. So 1998 proved to be another turning point in the company's history: It was the year that the search engine Google was born and began to change the online marketing landscape profoundly.

Mr. Erickson has been executing search engine marketing campaigns since 1996, even though there was no such thing as a "search engine marketing industry" at the time. The skills and knowledge he has accrued since 1996 benefits e-strategy.com's clients now more than ever before, as search engine marketing services are an increasingly crucial aspect of any online presence.

Erickson earned his B.A. from Coe College, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he studied art and writing. David has worked in the retail, advertising, marketing, and market research industries. Along the way, he also graduated from business school. He is a former Hubert H. Humphrey Policy Forum Fellow.
